Those interested in advertising, game art and design, and media art and design might be interested in the programs offered by the Art Institute of Orange County. Platt College has degree programs in visual communication and graphic design, while Laguna College of Art and Design specializes in fine arts degrees in drawing and painting, illustration, and animation.
Art and design occupations are forecasted to increase by 24% through 2012. Greatest gains will be seen for multimedia artists and animators, interior designs, graphic designers, and fine artists. A 2002 study conducted by the Orange County Business Committee for the Arts showed that the arts had an impact exceeding $408 million in 2001.

Orange County has plenty to offer artists and art enthusiasts. Dozens of museums and galleries as well as numerous other cultural offerings makes this area of southern California an artists' haven. Laguna Beach hosts a number of art festivals as well as public art tours.
