Orange County Psychology Schools & Programs

Concordia University offers a psychology major, while Irvine Valley College has associate degree programs in guidance and counseling and psychology. The University of California, Irvine offers a psychology and social behavior major as well as a doctor of philosophy in psychology. Santa Ana College has an associate degree program in psychology, as does Fullerton College. Hope International University also in Fullerton, offers a bachelor of arts. Vanguard University of Southern California in Costa Mesa offers bachelor and master's degrees in psychology, as does California State University Fullerton.

Forecasts through 2012 for jobs in Orange County show moderate to high increases for psychology-related occupations. Clinical, counseling and school psychologists can expect growth of 28%. Jobs for substance abuse and behavioral disorder counselors are forecast to grow by 17%. Other projected increases include: marriage and family therapists, 12%; mental health counselors, 18%; and rehabilitation counselors, 28%. Jobs for postsecondary psychology teachers are expected to increase by 62%.
